  The boxcar children went to the island.

Joe is the handy man.  They wanted Joe to go to the library to check out some books for them to read about rocks and shells and stuff.   But a little while later they figured out that Joe wrote those books and didn't get them from the library.  They made a museum in the barn.
They went into a cave.  A little while later they were digging and they found some Indian stuff.  Water came in a little bit later, but Watch, the dog, warned them that the water was coming.  They had to swim out.
They figured out that Joe was their cousin.   They invited some friends over to the island.  One was jumping up and down and cut his foot on a stick, no it was a rock.   Joe helped them fix it.   They had a big dinner with their cousin and their Grandpa and Mr. Brown.   In the end, summer was ending and they all went home and had a good time.

What's sad is a lot of people left the wives to go get gold in California, the American River.   What's weird is the ships went the long way around instead of walking across the land at the Isthmus of Panama.  Some of the people when they were headed off to get the gold, they stopped in a city and they liked that city so much they just stayed.  One of those people is my great, great, great grandpa, William Morley Black.    A lot of people died on the way there.  They really littered.  They panned for gold.

Volcano

I read a book called, Rescue on Parrot Island.  They tried to save the people from the volcano.  They threw them a rope hooked onto the ledge.    They capped the volcano under the ocean with a big rock.  It was gonna make a volcano.  They also capped the giant volcano with a rock.  This story is not true.
